Indian coal mining scam - 17 coal blocks falling in forests

Summary: The government of India had decided to auction number of coal blocks in areas with dense forest land with some blocks earlier falling under the category of no-go. Some of the blocks are also close to national parks and sancturies.  This news is based on a study by Green Peace which assessed the overlap of biodiversity and forest areas with coal blocks.
