Open Data Philippines: Data Skills Training

May 13, 2014

The ODRT was invited to join the Data Skills Training for the Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) on the 13th of May at World Bank Manila Office organized by the Open Data Task Force. The training was conducted by Mr. Anders Pedersen, knowledge and development lead at School of Data and Sergio Araiza, trainer and programmer at Social Tic and Escuela de Datos.

The training was about the introduction on Open Data, sources and formats of data, introduction to data driven campaign, introduction to spreadsheet, data scraping, and data cleaning. It was very informative and useful for the CSOs because as stressed by Mr. Anders, "the success of Open Data initiatives are in the hands of the CSOs". Engagement and participation of CSOs are needed to sustain the Open Data initiatives of the government.
