Research project: Open Data Intermediaries
This study will produce a synthesis paper addressing "What are the different types of intermediaries that have emerged (and are emerging) across the ODDC developing countries to facilitate the collection, curation, management, sharing and use of open data (supplied by both government and non‐government sources)?"
Francois van Schalkwyk presentated the findings from the synthesis research on open data intermediaries in developing countries at the Open Data Research Symposium 2015, a side event of the 3rd International Open Data Conference, in Ottawa on 27 May 2015.
The definition of an open data intermediary according to François van Schalkwyk, Michael Caňares, Sumandro Chattapadhyay & Alexander Andrason in their report Open Data Intermediaries in Developing Countries:
Michael Canares and Sumandro Chattapadhyay from the Open Data Intermediaries study team participated in the recently concluded Eighth International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) 2014 to present papers and organise a discussion session on the topic of the study. Francois van Schalkwyk, unfortunately, could not join us at the Conference. Leo Mutuku, Ricardo Matheus, and Sandra Elena, from the Open Data Research Network, also participated and contributed to the discussion session.
The research team is organising a session at the Eighth International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV) to be held at Guimaraes, Portugal, during October 27-30, 2014.
